FOCUS groups are where students choose a specialized area of art that interests them.
My two offerings this year are:
Creative Writing and Cartooning (open to 4/5)
Students will draw with words and write with pictures. Students in the class should feel comfortable when tasked with a lot of writing and a lot of drawing. Students will learn how arrangement of pictures can change the way a story is presented and absorbed by the audience. Heavy writing and drawing component. Students should be confident artists.
Mural Painting (open to 4/5)
We will design, and enlarge pictures for murals that will be painted around the school for the duration of the school year. Because we will spend much of the class in and around the hallways, students should be on their best behavior as they represent the school to visitors.
